02.06.2026 | Advancing energy communities with a view: our ECOEMPOWER partners gathered in the Dolomites to align on pilots, One-Stop Shops and the final project phase.

What a great way to spend two days advancing Europe’s energy transition: Our ECOEMPOWER consortium has just wrapped up its sixth and final project meeting in Pozza di Fassa, hosted by consortium partner Autonomous Province of Trento. Between the intense work sessions and the exchange with local stakeholders, we took important steps towards empowering regional and local authorities to better support energy communities through One-Stop Shops and pilot activities.

Over the two days, partners reported on progress in all work packages – from energy and ICT system analysis and social participation, to policy frameworks, business models and regional One-Stop Shops, all the way to testing support mechanisms in pilot sites and planning the final phase of communication and sustainability activities. A particular highlight was the interaction with the Scuola Ladina di Fassa and the site visits, including the official presentation of CESLA and a nearby hydropower plant, which grounded our discussions in very concrete regional realities.

Of course, meeting in the Dolomites came with a challenge of its own: the stunning mountain backdrop occasionally competed with our slides for everyone’s attention – but if anything, it reminded us why accelerating a fair and citizen-driven energy transition is so crucial. Many thanks to our hosts in Trentino and to all partners for their contributions, open discussions and commitment to making ECOEMPOWER a success!
